    It’s Always Been a Tradition

On your wedding day there is a certain tradition that most brides, even the modern ones, still like to uphold to. The something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.

For your something old this can be linked with your something borrowed, as traditionally the brides ‘something borrowed’ is usually an item of jewellery or even their wedding dress which was worn by their mother. If the bride does not wear her mothers dress she often sews a piece of fabric from it into her own. In Japan it is traditional for the bride to wear a white silk kimono that is handed down from generation to generation – a very sentimental gift from mother to daughter but also an expensive one prices tend to start at £10,000 and can range to as much as £100,000!

The something new has unlimited ends, so most brides consider their wedding dress as their something new but to be honest anything can represent this from your dress to your underwear. It’s up to you! Check out some stunning Wedding dresses from Perfection Bridal at our next fair on the 30th June, they have masses of stunning dresses to suit all sorts of brides.

It has long been a tradition that the brides something blue was a garter worn around her thigh on the wedding day and is sometimes presented to the bride to be by a friend on her hen night. If you’re stuck for ideas it can easily double as your something new! If you are looking to go outside of the box and have something different why not try incorporating it into your jewellery, hair accessorises, lingerie, shoes or even your wedding day theme.

Whether you want to incorporate these traditions into your wedding day theme or bridal ware it is completely up to you and we have an endless list of options to assist you in these decisions – If you would like to get a quote please contact us on 01273 771500 or come and visit us at The Marry Me Wedding Fair on the 30th June!
